Well, here we go! Band camp starts tomorrow at 9am! I’m really excited to see all of you tomorrow and kick off another great year of band at HHS!
Before you show up tomorrow, please take a moment to review the details in the July 21 Band Camp email to make sure you are ready to go. You can also find that email here.
Hot Weather Forecasted: I have been closely monitoring the weather forecast. With temperatures expected to be in the 90s tomorrow and Tuesday, we will alter plans to take care of any outdoor activities before noon each day and then spend the afternoon block of camp in the air-conditioned fieldhouse adjacent to the stadium. We will also have parent volunteers filling and monitoring our water and Gatorade jugs throughout the day. Please bring a water bottle and apply sunscreen before and during camp.
Parents/guardians: If you are available during the week to help with Band Camp we still have a few volunteer spots open. View them and sign up to help here. Please also plan on attending our informational meeting for parents/guardians at the conclusion of camp on Thursday. Root beer floats will be provided!
Marching Band Pictures Thursday: We will be doing our annual individual pictures for Marching Band during camp on Thursday. Everyone will get their picture taken to be used in our concert programs and the football program. There are no retakes so if you are late or absent, you will not be included in this year’s marching band photo (concert band photos will happen later in the year) Please remember to bring a pair of black socks and your HHS baseball cap (if you brought it home last year or received it at one of the 8th grade/HHS combined events). If you have long hair, please put it in a ponytail to fit out the back of your hat. Returning students should bring their MTX marching band shoes. New students who are purchasing shoes should just make sure to have long black socks. Photos can be ordered here. There will be no picture envelopes so please order online.
