Dear HHS Band Parents and Students, I’m writing to you in hopes that students will consider applying for the second annual North County Honor Band!  Last year, band directors from the Battle Ground and Hockinson school districts put together two honor bands, one middle school and one high school, made up of students from those districts as well as some of the smaller surrounding districts.  Last year’s honor bands featured students from the Battle Ground, Hockinson, Ridgefield, and La Center school districts.  This year, we are slightly expanding our applicant pool to include middle and high school students from Camas, Washougal, and Woodland. Mattress Fundraiser Parent Letter 2014 All students are expected to turn in names and phone numbers for 10 people they have invited to the mattress fundraiser. This needs to be done by Friday, October 17. Students are also asked to sign up to work a shift on the day of the fundraiser. Students will be playing on street corners, waving signs, and directing people to the sale. In addition to raising money for the Music Boosters, students will also earn money for each referral who purchases a mattress. This money can be applied to anything related to band (travel, uniform expenses, honor bands, etc.).

On Tuesday, October 28, 2014, the Hockinson High School and Washougal High School Jazz Bands will present a combined concert featuring the world-renowned trumpet and trombone player, Mic Gillette. Mic Gillette has appeared on countless CDs and record albums spanning five decades for some of the biggest names in the business, including a dozen members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
